Anti-Bullying Program
Rushford has pioneered anti-bullying efforts at several Middlesex County schools, working with administration, staff, and students to provide a variety of platforms to address the bullying issue that affect students, the bully and the bullied. This risk factor has been identified as a strong issue in the school through needs assessment. Rushford Prevention specialists incorporate lessons which celebrate diversity and assist students in understanding our similarities and differences.Middle school students will be the guests of honor at the “No Bully Zone” video premiere at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 14 at Middletown High School. The video is being funded by TagTeam Productions and Middlesex County Community Foundation Council of Business Partners and in partnership with Rushford Center, Inc. The video will be used for anti-bullying education in Connecticut and online and is part of the “No Bully Zone” program that teaches students how to identify, address and report incidents of bullying. The “No Bully Zone” video showcases bullying problems students face on an everyday basis and the tools they have learned to promote conflict resolution.
